my kid's a genius

This is what's left of a block of butter that Simon got into. Yes I did leave it out on the counter to thaw (I bought a bunch when they were on sale), so bad me. But really. REALLY. He pushed a chair over to the counter, found the butter, managed to unwrap the butter, then proceeded to EAT. THE. BUTTER.

(blech)

Not only that, but HE'S ALLERGIC TO BUTTER and all other dairy.

Fabulous.

  1. Oh. My. I can't even laugh b/c I just know my son would do the same thing!! He skimmed the tops off a bunch of broccoli last week and I found it in the fridge, half mangled and eaten.

I hope he didn't eat enough butter to have an allergic reaction - not fun!!

  5. But coconut oil is yummy! And good for your skin and hair. And doesn't cause gastrointestinal distress...

P.S. Yo, Olya. Update your blog, sister! I've shared Anya's birth video twice this week. Each time I see it, I'm as amazed as the first.

  6. Um. When I bake with Emily she will grab the spoon that I used for the butter and LICK IT.

he's not allergic, though, so there;s that...

  7. My 1 year old loves to get his hands in the butter, too! It's so greasy and hard to clean after, too!

I'm giggling and cringing at the same time.

  12. A lot of little ones eat butter, but because they need it. I've read that toddlers should be getting at least 6 Tablespoons per day of some sort of saturated fat - butter, coconut oil, etc. My toddler straight up eats it as well, and I don't complain. Then again, he's not allergic to dairy. Give that boy a few tablespoons of coconut oil instead :)
