Our first post!

Having decided that our lives are more than interesting enough - and more than worthy enough - for a blog, we have decided to finally embrace the world of online web logs. Hopefully this running commentary of our lives will excite and entertain, and give you some insight into the events of this new chapter we've started in Ottawa.

I've taken a slew of pictures over the last week during the annual Tulip Festival, but those will have to wait for another post.

As today was Queen Victoria Day here in Canada, Peter didn't have school. After a bit of a late start (since Peter let me sleep in, bless him) we set off with a long list of errands to do, only to discover that Ottawa clearly takes the Queen's birthday much more seriously than either Regina or Calgary... everything was closed! Groceries stores, Walmart, Chapters, EVERYTHING! Thanks for nothing, distance monarchy!

We did manage to find a few small, independant stores open downtown in the more touristy area, so were able to get a few things for supper. Since it was grey and misty, we crammed both boys into our single seat Chariot stroller. After a few minutes of hand-to-hand combat in a very tight space, here's what happend:

They fell asleep! All squashed together in the stroller! The only thing funnier than how they were sleeping was how LOUD they were BOTH snoring!

Speaking of the Chariot, that thing has been getting MAJOR workout since we landed in Ottawa. I bought the small stroller wheels at a bike shop down the street from our first hotel - one of the best $70 I've ever spent! It was so crazy not to get them 5 years ago (!) when we bought the thing. They're AWESOME... and they clearly make for a comfy ride.
