even when days are long, time flies

I meant to post this yesterday, but life got in the way.

Yesterday marked six months since my dad's death. It still seems impossible that he's gone, but at the same time it feels like years since I saw his face, heard his voice, or felt one of his strong hugs.

I miss you, dad.

  1. Oh, Amy... I'm so sorry for your loss. I can only imagine the pain of losing your dad. Keep the wonderful memories alive and think about him everyday. He will always be watching over you, you know. But still, I know there are days you just want to hug him again or see him or see him with your children. Stay strong, hon. I'm so so sorry.

  2. A beautiful tribute Amy.

Words can't even describe the loss.
    I know.
BUT we can look forward to that glorious day when we will see our loved ones again...

  3. I just watched the beautiful tribute video to your Dad tonight and almost fell off my chair when I saw Heather, Joel, Xavier and Rowan!! I can't believe it has taken me this long to realize who you are (obviously I am not the sharpest tool on the shed!) I had to run and tell Iain just to make sure I wasn't mistaken (what a small blogging world it is). Anyways I am Joel and Heather's sister-in-law (in case you haven't already figured that out).

I loved your tribute. So beautiful. My father passed away from cancer 10 years ago and I think about him everyday, it doesn't get easier. I actually found the loss of my Dad to get harder because he never saw me get married, and never saw the birth of his grandchildren. I talk about my Dad with my daughter Hannah all the time, but she is too young to understand that she has a grandfather that she will never see (at least not in this world).

Anyways I love reading your blog and find it quite comically to read (you have a great sense of humor) and I will start to go through your archives, now that I know who you are.

    Take Care,
    Jen
