just another cute baby picture, and why I need a faster lens

We get decent natural light through our east-facing living room window. Unfortunately, in order to take advantage of the light requires using this couch as a backdrop. If I had a faster lens (like this one *drool*), I'd be able to make better use of the light in the rest of the house.

I'd also be able to avoid the hundreds of pictures that I have like this:
Peter! Quit shaking the baby!

  2. I have the SAME problem! I so love photos with Natural light, and there's only one spot in the house I can get decent pics... and if the baby moves I get blurs. Thank goodness the cameras are digital now and you don't have to worry about 'wasting' film and developing pics you don't like!

Plus... that means kids can have fun with the camera too.

  3. May I ask what lens you used? I love natural light and almost never use a flash, I may be able to suggest a more affordable option.

  5. Ha, I have a lot of pix that look like that last one, too -- either that, or with half a baby crawling out of the frame!!

My new nifty-fifty was less than half the price of the one you linked to -- maybe something to consider if you don't already have one.
